Group: Forum Members Posts: 17, Visits: 66	HI All, I filed my first two flight plans uing SD over the last few days. I seem to have a problem with the connection to the SD server "hanging". I filed on Friday last, and it hung for 7 minutes with the SD logo still rotating. After 7 minutes I had to close the window, SD reported that the Flight plan had been filed. It is disconcerting that you don't actually "know" whether the program has completed or not! Is the problem common, I also filed on my way back from Guernsey today, same problem it just hung, am I doing something wrong? The plan was in the system, but I felt that had to call and check. Until I can resolve this I'm going back to Afpex, it's a pain but I know when I've filed. Cheers Neil.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 8.1K, Visits: 9.4K	This is likely a network problem somewhere along the line, and isn't something we hear very often (though it has happened before). If it happens again, you know it has been filed because you are sent a confirmation email.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 17, Visits: 66	HI Tim, Thanks for the info, but this has happened in two different locations, but I will continue, I find it strange that EGNX could not find the flight plan when asked to open it (this was the Tatenhill - Guernsey), they had to speak to London, is there a way of adding extra addresses into the flight plan? cheers Neil. PS I called Guernsey to check they had my second file for the return journey and they did, so i know it works ok , if it hangs again I'll kill the window off as i did last time and look for the e-mail with "confidence"!

Group: Forum Members Posts: 8.1K, Visits: 9.4K	Yes, you can add extra addresses as part of the filing process. There is no particular reason EGNX would receive a copy of a flightplan from Tatenhill unless you explicitly address them.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 17, Visits: 66	Hi Tim, I and several other Demon users would possibly prefer to have EGNX inserted into the flight plan as when we depart from either Tatenhill or Derby, there's usually nobody available to open the flight plan. Our first call is to EGNX in which we usually ask them to open it. failing that its a call to London, I don't have demon on my mobile and have to rely on a.n. other opening the plan. I will have a look and see how I can insert EGNX into my outward bound flight plans. Thanks for all the help, by the way the GAR interface is so useful, it made my life a lot easier when filing to come back from Guernsey, a great addition. Cheers Neil.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 265, Visits: 3.5K	Hi Neil, when I file a FPL for a flight within Germany, FIS Langen won't get it, which is completely correct. Nevertheless they can open the FPL if they get a DEP MSG from me via radio. They relay it to the appropriate places. Perhaps EGNX is also able to do this. Cheers Eric

Group: Forum Members Posts: 8.1K, Visits: 9.4K	I appreciate it may be convenient for some users to have EGNX automatically copied in on such flightplans, but there is no legal or official reason to do so, so we won't build it in to SkyDemon. The correct course of action is to additionally address them if you want them to open it for you, or let London Information do it.
